What is a Suica card?
Suica is a rechargeable contactless IC card. You load it with yen, then tap it on the reader at station gates and shop tills. How to get a Suica in 2026
Option 1: On your phone (easiest)

Option 2: A physical card
Buy one from ticket machines or counters at major stations and airports. Welcome Suica versions for tourists skip the deposit and are valid for 28 days.
